Victorian Redux home
Old Toronto,
Newly Imagined
A front door in vibrant yellow is the first introduction to this heritage home in the heart of Old Toronto. The Victorian gem was in need of a rejuvenated design for a family entering a new chapter in their lives as children are leaving the nest. Each decision was made and change implemented with utmost care, so as not to lose the soul of the traditional architecture—such as the entryway glass vestibule that keeps the ever-changing Canadian weather at the doorstep while inviting natural light right into the centre of the home.
The formal sitting area at the front of the house flows into the dining area with an informal round table, perfect for intimate dinners, which in turn directly connects to the kitchen, forming one continuous and coherent living space. An added mudroom at the side entrance and a new contemporary bay window at the back of the house complete this modern reimagination of Victoriana in one of Toronto’s oldest and most beautiful neighbourhoods.
