The formal ceremony for the ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) Awards was held on October 3rd. Architects, interior designers and product designers competed for the highly covetable awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in a variety of categories.

Douglas Design Studio was honored to win an award for the design of the Forest Estate Home in the category Live - Residence. This luxury modernist home was once a mundane suburban bungalow, but now sees itself transformed. The two levels of the home nestle into the natural slope of the landscape, which grounds it in its surroundings. A restructured, raised roof and newly introduced windows bring in light, air, and open uninterrupted forest vistas. The result is a deep and philosophical connection between nature, architecture and interior.
